Host Mookie Spitz welcomes Mandi Zucker, Executive Director of End of Life Choices New York, for an open conversation about something we and our families all face, the end of life. Together, they dive into how the American healthcare system traditionally handles dying, and why so many families are left feeling powerless, overwhelmed, and heartbroken — until now.
Mandi shares her organization's mission to advocate, educate, and expand choices for those nearing life's end, including championing legislation like medical aid in dying in New York — currently legal in ten states and D.C. With honesty, compassion, and empathy, Mookie and Mandi discuss why having the ability to shape our own final chapter matters so much, and how honoring personal values can create more peaceful, meaningful endings for ourselves and our loved ones.

The Guest
Mandi Zucker is the Executive Director of End of Life Choices New York. She received a bachelors degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a masters degree in social work from New York University. Prior to her role at End of Life Choices New York, Mandi worked in hospice, grief and bereavement. She has a certificate in the study of death and dying as well as in grief recovery.
The Organization
End of Life Choices New York is the only state specific organization focused on advocacy, education and support for people with terminal illness. Our mission is to improve the quality of life and expand options for people who are dying.
